And this is the second series up for selection. These are some of the images I submitted for my book project in 2nd year. The whole set are in a book which I could exhibit alongside these select few images. The book was called She and all the images are self portraits. I’m also not sure whether to cut this set down to 4 images. If you like this series also which ones, if any, should I ditch?

I really need your help please!!

I need to send off my images for my London exhibition today really but i’m kind of torn between which set to send. I’ve been on and off the above project and I keep changing my mind but this is the tutors favourite. I will also post the other series and I really need to know which to get printed. So your opinions are super super valuable right now!

So this project is entitled 21 and is a series of girls in their bedrooms (‘personal spaces’) during this transitional phase in their lives.

My Major Project has now been handed in and is no longer an issue in my life.

this is a little like my portraits at the moment. They change most days but they kind of look like this right now.

Bedroom; Update.

I’ve told myself that I am done shooting the domestic portraits project now. I can’t ask people to keep invading their space like that. I have re-shot 4 of the girls and shot 4 once. From the first attempts I came to realise that the majority are very dark and underexposed. This was a big problem and so I had to shoot those again. Unfortunately this has provided a new problem - through having to slow the shutter speed down a great deal to achieve enough exposure it is proving very difficult to get a sharp shot, they’re becoming blurred very easily. I’m really gutted about that. A tripod isn’t an option because people don’t have the space for that in their rooms, it’s also impractical and inappropriate to set it up in their space plus I need the freedom of movement and the ability to get right into corners as when people have small rooms there isn’t much space for shooting as it is. It’s all become a bit of a nightmare to be honest. I’m hoping I can get 1 good shot from each room and be done with it, right now I’m just really disappointed with the results.

After much time and effort I have sort of produced a website that I kind of like. It still needs some tweaking I think but for now i’m quite proud of myself.

I’ve borrowed a couple of cameras and some other kit for the Easter holidays. I feel like I really want to take advantage of them while I have them as i’ve managed to bag some great stuff but I don’t know what to shoot. Apart from my project of course. Id really like to experiment and try some things and try to build up my portfolio some more. There is so very much to do in these holidays. I’ve been producing a few images lately that I actually like and I really want to keep that going and build up a range of things I can be proud of. Fingers crossed I make the effort on top of everything else!
